Weld IT: Your digital tool for more efficient production

In a world constantly moving towards digitalization, industrial processes such as welding face challenges related to efficiency, quality and safety. Weld IT understands these challenges and offers innovative solutions to tackle them. But how can you as a customer benefit from our services? And what does this mean for you as a customer? To answer this, let's look at the experience of one of our satisfied customers, Størksen Rustfri Industri AS.

Customer experience: Størksen Rustfri Industri AS

Størksen Rustfri Industri As is basically a prototype manufacturer for the offshore and subsea market.

"We have always had a segment in commercial kitchens and interiors, which has also developed into more and more requests in art and architecture. At one point we made a strategy to develop this segment and saw a clear need for the introduction of NS EN 1090-1.

So it was a natural choice to use Weld IT as a quality system and welding management.

We chose Weld IT because the system is intuitive and focused on our type of business.

In recent years, we have won several subcontracts as a steel contractor for various National Tourist Routes (NT) contracts. The size of these projects accounts for a significant part of our turnover.

In connection with NT's project in Hardanger Stoppunkt Espenes just south of Lofthus, we saw the need to strengthen our quality system. We then engaged Weld IT and Kjell Inge Jørgensen as our IWT.

The complexity of the welding in this project included the development of new WPQR within material group 10.1 in different variants for our internal production, as well as follow-up of this production.

The project also includes a slightly exotic element where we have production in China, supported by DNV - China.

Instructions and control plans have been developed and translated into Chinese by our assistant welding coordinator, who has relied on Kjell Inge.

The Espenes project is so special that it has been nominated for the Norwegian Steel Structure Award by the Norwegian Steel Association (awarded on November 9). In addition, the project won the Norwegian Light Award 2022; Best Outdoor Project by Light Bureau Ltd.

The project is nominated for the 2023 European Steel Design Awards, together with 10 other projects at European level (to be presented in Amsterdam at the Eurosteel Conference on September 12).
